{Art Throwback} Miss Dior

Christian Dior Couture, Spring 2015

One of my favorite pieces in all of Paris Couture Week was this Dior cutout dress that was beautifully vintage and modern. That silhouette? What dreams are made of. And the print? Floral perfection. In fact, I blended a photo of the gorgeous pattern into my water and ink drawing to truly bring it to life.

I was helplessly drawn to this regal, ageless, statuesque design.

Spring 2015 Favorites: Zac Posen

Zac Posen is the king of powerful silhouettes. This simple red gown with a mermaid shape and moon neckline was the most striking of his latest collection. I can't wait to see who wears this on the red carpet.

Spring 2015 Favorites: Donna Karan

Usually, it's Donna Karan's brilliant draping that makes me weak, but this season it was her funky bomber and pencil skirt combo that struck a chord. The duo were playful and sophisticated all at once. It's something my alter ego would wear to drinks on a Friday night.

Spring 2015 Favorites: Tanya Taylor

Stripes are BIG for Spring 2015, it seemed every designer took them in their own direction for this series of runway collections. I first fell for the simple baby blue polo dress with a belted waist and sexy slit at Tanya Taylor's show. It looks so easy to wear and was particularly perfect with the model's coral lipstick.

Spring 2015 Favorites: Jason Wu

Jason Wu blew me away with his slinky shimmering '70s dresses this season. A touch of Halston and DVF with a JW spin. Love.

Fall 2014's most memorable collection for me was from Donna Karan. It was sexy, it was powerful, it was Cabaret. Her belted blazers were followed by floating fire gowns and burnout velvet. I loved the drama, I could practically feel the stomping down the runway when I looked at each ensemble. Hence the inspiration for this moving illustration.
